Gas Market Reform
The Ministerial Council on Energy (MCE) is overseeing the implementation of a national gas market development plan. The reforms contained in this plan include:
- establishment of a gas market Bulletin Board which provides daily information on gas infrastructure and gas supply and demand
- publication of an annual Gas Statement of Opportunities to provide timely and accurate information for existing and prospective gas market participants on new investment opportunities
- implementation of a Short Term Trading Market (STTM). The STTM will facilitate gas trading using short-term market prices. The market bidding and pricing information generated in the STTM will ultimately be published on the Bulletin Board.
