Department of Water and Energy
About us
The Department of Water and Energy (DWE) was established in April 2007 to coordinate water and energy management in NSW under one cohesive agency.
The Department incorporates most of the functions of the former Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability, the water-related functions of the former Department of Natural Resources and the Metropolitan Water Directorate from the former NSW Cabinet Office.
The Department provides policy, legislative, regulatory, technical and management advice in relation to water and energy matters to the Minister for Water and the Minister for Energy.
