Graduate Program
The Department of Water and Energy advertises for graduates in October each year.
Applications for the 2009 Graduate Program have now CLOSED.
Our Graduate Program offers new graduates an opportunity to work in the critical areas of research, analysis and policy or in supporting the organisation in this work. The Department recruits graduates for 12-24 month programs. Graduates can expect to work in a number of different sections within the Department and undertake a range of development activities.
Due to the broad scope of work undertaken by DWE, we require graduates from a number of different disciplines. The program runs across a number of streams:
- Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental, Chemical
- Science – Science, Social Science, Aquatic Science, Economics, Resource Economics, Water Modelling or similar
- Policy-Programs – Law, Economics, Business, Commerce, Communications, Arts, Government, Policy or similar
We are looking for graduates who:

- Have excellent oral and written communications skills
- Are motivated and willing to learn.
Salary
The salary package is valued up to $68,197 per annum (salary $48,143-$61,801).
